Welcome to Lake Oswego

In Northwest Oregon, on the banks of the scenic Willamette River and hugging the shore of a 405-acre lake, Lake Oswego is nestled among many of Oregon’s greatest attractions: Mount Hood, the Oregon Coast, the Columbia Gorge and nearby vineyards, farmlands and forests. There are waters for swimming, boating, fishing and water-skiing; neighborhood, city and state parks for hiking, horseback riding, jogging and family recreation; soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts and golf courses; a country club and much more.

Lake Oswego, the largest city in Clackamas County, has a population estimated as of July 2008 of 36,345. There are also parts of the city in Multnomah and Washington counties. The city covers 11.2 square miles. Lake Oswego is close to Oregon’s major metropolitan areas. It is eight miles from Portland and 45 minutes from Salem.

Lake Oswego is consistently rated one of Oregon’s most livable cities. Its residents are involved in community and school activities.

The city has a superb library, an outstanding center for its senior citizens and expansive parks and natural areas.
