The communities of Lake Oswego and West Linn contain some of the most celebrated public and private schools in the state.

In recent years, the public school systems in Lake Oswego, West Linn-Wilsonville and the Dunthorpe-Riverdale neighborhoods have earned state and national recognition for excellence in education, with individual schools singled out for honors and students surpassing state and national averages in testing.

The Lake Oswego, Riverdale and West Linn-Wilsonville school districts also enjoy enthusiastic support from local citizens, including parents and other volunteers who help students and teachers in and outside the classroom.

In addition to the public schools, there are small private schools that operate in West Linn and Lake Oswego. Preschools, colleges and universities also are found in the area.
